Colonnaded Street, Petra, Jordan — After Rome annexed the Nabataean kingdom, the main commercial avenue was rebuilt with marble columns in Roman style, linking the Triple Arch Gate at its western end to the Temenos of Qasr al-Bint. Shops and market stalls once lined both sides of this grand thoroughfare.
