About Us
We started this site because we couldn't find what we were looking for. Not about any one topic — just in general. Much of what's online is either thin, trying to sell you something, or clearly written by nobody. We wanted a place where the person writing actually did the work and had an opinion about what they found.
Beth and I cover different things. I tend toward history, architecture, how systems work, who's making the decisions. She's better at the stuff that matters to real life — whether a place is worth the trip, what a family should actually do when they get there, the people behind a news story that everyone else skips over. We're not reporters. We're not influencers. We just research things we're interested in and try to present what we find in a way that's actually worth reading.
The articles have opinions — if something isn't worth your time or money, we'll say so. The photo essays are curated from thousands of images to find the ones that tell the story. The quizzes are surprisingly interesting.
