Mexuar (Council Chamber), Alhambra, Granada, Spain — The oldest surviving section of the Nasrid palaces served as the official reception hall where the sultan administered justice and received petitions. Its tiled walls and prayer alcove were later remodeled by Christian monarchs, making it one of the palace's most stratified spaces archaeologically.
