Completed in Louis XIV's final years, the Royal Chapel is where the court assembled daily for Mass — the royal family above in the gallery, the court below. Louis XV and Marie Antoinette were married here in 1770, nineteen years before a Revolutionary crowd forced them back to Paris. The chapel outlasted both of them.
