Mehtab Bagh (Moonlight Garden), Agra, India — This garden on the north bank of the Yamuna, directly across from the Taj, was built as a viewing platform and is believed to be where Shah Jahan planned his own black marble tomb. Recent excavations revealed an octagonal pool perfectly aligned to reflect the Taj in its surface, confirming historical accounts of the emperor viewing his masterpiece from this spot.
