Philosopher's Path, Kyoto, Japan — This 2-kilometer stone path alongside a canal lined with hundreds of cherry trees takes its name from philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who walked it daily in contemplation in the early 20th century. In April the overhanging cherry blossoms create a pink tunnel above the water, drawing visitors from around the world for hanami (flower viewing).
