Apsara Carvings, Angkor Wat, Cambodia
More than 1,700 apsara figures across the walls, each one distinct — different headdress, different expression, different tilt of the head. They were divine dancers believed to entertain the gods. The craftsmen who carved them worked at a scale that still isn't fully explained. © GayleKaren, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons
