Petra Theater, Petra, Jordan — The Romans enlarged this Nabataean theater to seat approximately 7,000 spectators by carving directly into an existing necropolis area, slicing through previously completed tomb facades in the process. It demonstrates the dramatic scale of Roman influence on Petra even before formal annexation in 106 AD.
