Great Ball Court, Chichen Itza, Mexico — At 168 meters long and 70 meters wide, this is the largest Mesoamerican ballcourt ever found. Stone rings mounted 8 meters high on each wall were the targets through which players had to pass the rubber ball using only their hips, elbows, and knees — a feat of extraordinary athletic difficulty.
