Stonehenge Standing Stones, Wiltshire, England — The smaller bluestones forming the inner circle were transported from the Preseli Hills of Wales, approximately 240 miles away — the longest known prehistoric stone transport in Britain. Recent research has identified the precise quarries at Carn Goedog and Craig Rhos-y-felin where the stones were extracted around 2500 BC.
