Pompeii Thermopolium (Snack Bar), Pompeii, Italy — This fast-food counter excavated 2019-2020 was found with food remnants still in its sunken earthenware jars: duck bones, pig bones, snails, and fish — the remains of the last menu. Vivid painted frescoes of a rooster, mallards, and a sea nymph decorated its facade, serving as an ancient advertisement for the dishes sold within.
