Petra Street of Facades, Petra, Jordan — This row of Nabataean tomb facades carved high into the cliff face shows the evolution of funerary architecture from simple doorways to elaborate multi-story monuments. The 'stepped merlon' crow-step design at their tops is a distinctively Nabataean architectural signature.
