Temple of Artemis Site, Ephesus, Turkey — A single re-erected column marks the site of what was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, a temple measuring 55 by 115 meters supported by 127 columns each 18 meters tall. The temple was burned by Herostratus in 356 BC on the night Alexander the Great was born.
