Great Theater of Ephesus, Ephesus, Turkey, c. 3rd century BC, rebuilt 1st-2nd century AD — This semicircular theater carved into Mount Pion could seat approximately 25,000 spectators and was the largest in the ancient world. The Book of Acts records that a riot against Paul broke out here, with silversmiths shouting 'Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!' for two hours.
