Apsara Carvings, Angkor Wat, Cambodia — More than 1,700 individual apsara (celestial dancer) figures are carved across the temple walls, each with a unique headdress and expression. These divine dancers were believed to entertain the gods and reward virtuous warriors in the afterlife.
